One of the predominant themes that can be drawn out by examining the Harry Potter series has been the impact of EFFORT. Harry may have been identified as someone special but he actually didn&#039;t have the skills initially. He worked hard and practiced and practiced and it was that EFFORT that had him succeed. Same with Hermione. EFFORT is what teachers should be praising in class as this is what generates a Growth mindset (see Carolyn Dweck&#039;s work). Generating a growth mindset in students is key to having a successful, independent learner.]]></description>
